✧ He asked 'A'isha about the saying of Allah: {If you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphans, then marry what is good to you from the women, two, three, or four}. She said, "O son of my sister, this is the orphan girl who is in the care of her guardian, sharing his wealth with him. Her wealth and beauty please him, so her guardian wants to marry her without dealing justly in her dower, giving her the like of what someone else would give her. They were forbidden to marry them unless they deal justly with them, giving them the highest dower of their kind. They were commanded to marry other women who were good to them." 'Urwa said: 'A'isha said: Then the people asked about them after this verse, so Allah revealed: {They ask you about women. Say: Allah gives you a ruling about them and what is recited to you in the Book concerning the orphan women to whom you do not give what is written for them and you desire to marry them}. She said, "And what Allah mentioned that is recited to you in the Book is the first verse in which He said: {If you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphans, then marry what is good to you from the women}." 'A'isha said, "And Allah said in the other verse about the desire of one of you for his orphan girl who is in his care when she has little wealth and beauty, so they were forbidden to marry those women whose wealth and beauty they desired except with justice, because of their desire for them."
