✧ We were with Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbayd Allāh on the Ḥajj while we were in a state of iḥrām, and a bird was gifted to us while Ṭalḥah was sleeping. Some of us ate, and some of us abstained and did not eat it. When Ṭalḥah woke up, we mentioned that to him, and he agreed with those who ate it and said: “We ate it with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”

machine translationMuḥammad b. al-Munkadir narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn Jurayj narrated it from Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir, from Muʿādh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿUthmān, from his father, from Ṭalḥah, and Rabīʿah b. ʿUmar corroborated him from Ibn al-Munkadir. Fulayḥ b. Sulaymān narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿUthmān, from Ṭalḥah, and he did not mention Muʿādh. Abū Ḥanīfah narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad, from Ṭalḥah. Al-Thawrī narrated it from Ibn al-Munkadir, from a shaykh whom he did not name, from Ṭalḥah. The correct version is the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, for he preserved its chain of transmission.
