أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَالضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ عَامَ حَجِّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ «وَهُمَا يَذْكُرَانِ التَّمَتُّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ فَقَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ لَا يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا مَنْ جَهِلَ أَمْرَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ بِئْسَ مَا قُلْتَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي فَقَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ » وَقَدْ صَنَعَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَصَنَعْنَاهَا مَعَهُ

✧ He heard Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ and al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. Qays in the year of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān’s ḥajj, while they were discussing tamattuʿ with ʿumrah to ḥajj. Al-Ḍaḥḥāk said: “No one does that except one who is ignorant of Allah’s command.” Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ said: “How bad is what you have said, O son of my brother.” Al-Ḍaḥḥāk said: “ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb forbade that.” Saʿd said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did it, and we did it with him.”
