أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ
خَرَجْنَا مُوَافِينَ لِهِلَالِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِحَجٍّ فَلْيُهِلَّ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ» قَالَتْ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ قَالَ فَكُنْتُ أَنَا مِمَّنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِسَرِفَ ذَكَرْتُ الْمَحِيضَةَ دَخَلُ عَلَيَّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَبْكِي فَقُلْتُ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَخْرُجِ الْعَامَ وَذَكَرَتْ مَحِيضَتَهَا قَالَتْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «انْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ وَامْتَشِطِي وَافْعَلِي مَا يَفْعَلُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي حَجِّهِمْ» قَالَتْ فَأَطَعْتُ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةَ الصَّدْرِ أَمَرَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَأَخْرَجَهَا إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ قَالَتْ فَأَهْلَلْتُ مِنْهُ بِعُمْرَةٍ

✧ We set out coinciding with the new moon of Dhū al-Ḥijjah. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever wishes to enter ihram for ḥajj, let him do so; and whoever wishes to enter ihram for ʿumrah, let him enter ihram for ʿumrah." She said: So among us were those who entered ihram for ḥajj and among us those who entered ihram for ʿumrah. She said: I was among those who entered ihram for ʿumrah, until when we were at Sarif, I mentioned the menstrual period. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while I was weeping. I said: I wish I had not gone out this year. And she mentioned her menstrual period. She said: The Prophet ﷺ said: "Undo your hair, comb it, and do what the Muslims do in their ḥajj." She said: So I obeyed Allah and His Messenger. When it was the night of departure, he commanded ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Bakr, and he took her out to al-Tanʿīm. She said: So I entered ihram from it for ʿumrah.
