✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived and found the Jews fasting on the day of Ashura. He said to them, "What is this?" They said, "A great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the people of Pharaoh, so Moses fasted it in gratitude to Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am more entitled to Moses and more deserving of fasting it than you." So he fasted it and commanded fasting it.
