أَخْبَرَنَا الْبُجَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
«إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ» قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ»

✧ Beware of continuous fasting, beware of continuous fasting. They said: But you practice continuous fasting, O Messenger of Allah. He said: I am not in that like you; I pass the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink, so take on of deeds what you have strength for.
