✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I am destroyed. He said: "Woe to you, what is that?" He said: I fell upon my wife on a day in the month of Ramadan. He said: "Free a slave." He said: I cannot find. He said: "Fast two consecutive months." He said: I cannot. He said: "Feed sixty poor people." He said: I cannot find. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a basket containing fifteen saʿs of dates. He said to him: "Give it in charity." He said: On those poorer than my family? There is no one between the two lava tracts of Madinah more in need than my family. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his canine teeth showed and said: "Take it, seek Allah's forgiveness, and feed it to your family."
