أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ

«لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ} كَانَ مِنْ أَرَادَ مِنَّا أَنْ يُفْطِرَ أَفْطَرَ وَافْتَدَى حَتَّى نَزَلَتِ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي بَعْدَهَا فَنَسَخَتْهَا

Translation

  5. Bukayr b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ashaj
  6. Yazīd a freed slave of Salamah b. al-Akwaʿ
  7. Salamah b. al-Akwaʿ

✧ «When it was revealed, {And upon those who can afford it, a ransom of feeding a poor person}, whoever among us wanted to break the fast would break it and pay the ransom, until the verse after it was revealed and abrogated it.»
