✧ I was among a group of Quraysh when Abu Dharr passed by saying, 'Give glad tidings to the hoarders of wealth of a branding on their backs that will come out from their sides, and a branding from the back of their necks that will come out from their foreheads.' Then he stepped aside and sat down. I asked, 'Who is this?' They said, 'Abu Dharr.' I went to him and said, 'What is this that I heard you saying a little while ago?' He said, 'I did not say anything except something I heard from their Prophet ﷺ.' I said, 'What do you say about this allowance?' He said, 'Take it, for today it is a means of support. But if it becomes a price for your religion, then leave it.'
