✧ A Chapter on the condition of the deceased in their grave

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ دَرَّاجًا أَبَا السَّمْحِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ

«يَأْكُلُ التُّرَابُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْإِنْسَانِ إِلَّا عَجْبَ ذَنْبِهِ» قِيلَ وَمَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «مِثْلُ حَبَّةِ خَرْدَلٍ مِنْهُ يَنْشَأُ»

✧ «The earth consumes everything of the human being except his coccyx.» It was said, "What is it, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Like a mustard seed; from it he will be created."
