machine translationAl-Thawrī and Misʿar narrate it from Ziyād b. ʿIlāqah. As for al-Thawrī, he narrated it from Ziyād, that he heard it from al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah. As for Misʿar, there is disagreement about him: Shuʿbah narrated it from Misʿar, from Ziyād b. ʿIlāqah, from his paternal uncle, from al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah. And Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ṣūfī narrated it from Ibrāhīm b. al-Mustamirr al-ʿUrūqī, from ʿAmr b. Muḥammad b. Abī Ruzayq, from Shuʿbah, from Misʿar, from Ziyād, from al-Mughīrah, and he omitted from it "from his paternal uncle". Someone other than Shuʿbah narrates it from Misʿar, from al-Ḥajjāj, the freed slave of Thaʿlabah, from the paternal uncle of Ziyād b. ʿIlāqah, from al-Mughīrah. The ḥadīth of Shuʿbah from Misʿar is an error (waham), while the other two are preserved (maḥfūẓ).
