✧ The prayer of fear.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلَّى بِذِي قَرَدٍ فَصَفَّ النَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ صَفٌّ خَلْفَهُ وَصَفٌّ مُوَازِي الْعَدُوِّ فَصَلَّى بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ رَجَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلَاءِ وَجَاءَ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلَاءِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَلَمْ يَقْضُوا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed at Dhu Qarad. The people formed two rows behind him: a row behind him and a row facing the enemy. He led the row nearest to him in one rak'ah. Then those [who had prayed] went back to the positions of those [who had not prayed], and those came to the positions of those, and he led them in one rak'ah, and they did not make [it] up.
