✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon when the people rose to him and shouted, “O Prophet of Allah, the rain has ceased, the trees have turned red, and the animals have died, so invoke Allah to send us rain.” He said, “O Allah, give us water.” He said, “By Allah, we did not see even a wisp of cloud in the sky.” He said, “Then a cloud arose and spread, and it rained. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ descended, prayed, and left. It kept raining until the next Friday. When the Prophet ﷺ stood to deliver the sermon, they shouted, ‘O Prophet of Allah, the houses have collapsed and the roads are cut off, so invoke Allah to withhold it from us.’” He said, “He ﷺ smiled and said, ‘O Allah, around us and not upon us.’” He said, “Then it cleared from Madinah and began to rain around it, and not a drop fell on Madinah.” He said, “I looked at Madinah, and it was like a crown.”
