✧ The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for prayer and recited a long surah. Then he bowed for about as long as his standing. Then he raised his head and began another surah until he had finished it. Then he bowed a second time. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood for the second rakʿah, also reciting a surah, and he stood for a shorter time than the first recitation. Then he bowed, and his bowing was shorter than the first. Then he prostrated. When he raised his head from prostration, he said, 'There is nothing that you are promised but that I have seen it in this station of mine. I saw myself wanting to take a bunch from Paradise when you saw me moving forward. And I saw Hellfire, parts of it smashing into each other, when you saw me step back. And I saw ʿAmr b. Luḥayy, who is the one who set free the sāʾibah camels.'
