أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَنَّ سَعِيدًا الْمَقْبُرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَهُ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ سَفَرًا فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَالتَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ» حَتَّى إِذَا أَدْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ ازْوِ لَهُ الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْهِ السَّفَرَ»

✧ A man came to him while he was intending to travel and greeted him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I enjoin you to fear Allah and to say the takbir upon every elevation.” Then when the man turned away, he said: “O Allah, fold the earth for him and make the journey easy for him.”
