✧ I asked 'A'ishah about the Prophet's ﷺ prayer at night. She said, "He used to sleep at the beginning of the night, then get up and pray. When it was the time before dawn, he prayed witr. If he had need of his family, he would go to them; otherwise he slept. When he heard the adhan, he leapt up—she did not say 'he got up'—and if he was in a state of major impurity, he poured water over himself—she did not say 'he performed ghusl'—otherwise he performed ablution and went out to the prayer."
