✧ I asked and was eager to find anyone among the people to tell me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Duha prayer, but I did not find anyone to tell me about that except Umm Hani' bt. Abi Talib. She told me, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came after the sun had risen on the day of the conquest and ordered a garment to be used as a screen for him. He performed ghusl, then stood and prayed eight rak'ahs. I do not know whether his standing in them was longer, or his bowing, or his prostration—all of that was similar." She said, "I did not see him pray it before or after."

machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn Jurayj narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith b. Nawfal, from his father, from Umm Hāniʾ, and this is closer to being correct. Makḥūl narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith, from Umm Hāniʾ. Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah also narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: Muḥammad b. Faḍāʾ narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah, from ʿUbaydullāh b. Abī Yazīd, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith, from Umm Hāniʾ. But the companions of Ibn ʿUyaynah disagreed with him and narrated it from him, from Yazīd b. Abī Ziyād, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith, and this is the correct one. Likewise Mūsā b. Aʿyun and Jarīr b. ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd narrated it from Yazīd b. Abī Ziyād.
