Sahih Ibn Hibban 250

✧ Chapter: Mentioning the Statement that whoever considers a person as an unbeliever is definitely an unbeliever.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«أَيُّمَا امْرِئٍ قَالَ لِأَخِيهِ كَافِرٌ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِهِ أَحَدُهُمَا إِنْ كَانَ كَمَا قَالَ وَإِلَّا رَجَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ»

✧ “Any person who says to his brother, ‘Unbeliever,’ then one of them has incurred it: if he is as he said, then it is as he said; otherwise it returns upon him.”
