أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ كُرَيْبًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَهُ
أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَأَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ وَشَعَرُهُ مَعْقُوصٌ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ فَقَامَ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ فَجَعَلَ يَحُلُّهُ وَأَقَرَّ لَهُ الْآخَرُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَقْبَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ وَرَأْسِي؟ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ هَذَا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ مَكْتُوفٌ»

✧ That 'Abdullah b. 'Abbas saw 'Abdullah b. al-Harith while his hair was tied back behind him, so he stood behind him and began to untie it, and the other submitted to him. When he finished, he came to Ibn 'Abbas and said: “What do you have against my head?” He said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The likeness of this is only like the likeness of one who prays while he is bound.'”
