أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْكِنَانِيِّ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ التَّمِيمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَلَمَّا بَلَغْنَا الْمُغَارَ اسْتَحْثَثْتُ فَرَسِي فَسَبَقْتُ أَصْحَابِي فَتَلَقَّانِي الْحَيُّ بِالرَّنِينِ فَقُلْتُ قُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ تُحَرَّزُوا فَقَالُوهَا فَلَامَنِي أَصْحَابِي وَقَالُوا حُرِمْنَا الْغَنِيمَةَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رُدَّتْ بِأَيْدِينَا فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرُوهُ بِمَا صَنَعْتُ فَدَعَانِي فَحَسَّنَ لِي مَا صَنَعْتُ وَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ كَتَبَ لَكَ بِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ كَذَا وَكَذَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us on a military expedition. When we reached the raiding place, I urged my horse on and outstripped my companions. The tribe met me with wailing, so I said, "Say: There is no god but Allah, and you will be protected." They said it, and my companions blamed me, saying, "You deprived us of the spoils after they had been within our grasp." When we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they told him what I had done. He called me and commended what I had done, and said, "Indeed, Allah has recorded for you for each person of them such and such."
