✧ When Marwan appointed Abu Hurayrah in charge of Madinah, whenever he stood for the obligatory prayer he would say takbir, then say takbir when he bowed. When he raised his head from bowing he would say: “Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You belongs praise.” Then he would say takbir when going down to prostrate, then say takbir when rising from the two prostrations after the tashahhud. He would do the same until he completed his prayer. When he finished and gave the greeting, he turned to the people of the mosque and said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, I am the one among you whose prayer most resembles that of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
