✧ ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar saw a young man while he was praying—he had lengthened his prayer and prolonged it—and said: “Who knows this one?” A man said: “I do.” ʿAbd Allāh said: “If I knew him, I would have commanded him to lengthen the bowing and the prostration, for I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: ‘When a servant stands to pray, his sins are brought and placed upon his head or his shoulder, and every time he bows or prostrates, they fall away from him.’”
