✧ “O Kaab b. Ujrah, I seek refuge for you with Allah from the rule of fools. There will be rulers: whoever enters upon them, helps them in their wrongdoing, and confirms their lies is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the pond. Whoever does not enter upon them, does not help them in their wrongdoing, and does not confirm their lies is of me, and I am of him, and he will come to me at the pond. O Kaab b. Ujrah, prayer is an offering, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire. People go out in the morning: one sells himself and sets his soul free, or one destroys it. O Kaab b. Ujrah, no flesh that grew from ill-gotten gain will enter Paradise.”
