✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to his companions one night while they were waiting for the Isha prayer and said, “The people have prayed and gone to sleep, while you are waiting for it. Indeed, you are in prayer as long as you are waiting for it.” Then he said, “Were it not for the weakness of the weak or the old age of the elderly, I would have delayed this prayer until half the night.”

machine translationThis hadith is an error in which Abū Muʿāwiyah erred, meaning when he narrated it from Dāwūd, from Abū Naḍrah, from Jābir. I said: He did not make clear what it is. In my view, the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) version is what Wuhayb and Khālid al-Wāsiṭī narrated from Dāwūd, from Abū Naḍrah, from Abū Saʿīd, from the Prophet ﷺ.
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 1533 - Ibn Abī Ḥatim
machine translationAbū Zurʿah did not make clear which is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) version. In my view, the sound version is what Wuhayb and Khālid al-Wāsiṭī narrated from Dāwūd, from Abū Naḍrah, from Abū Saʿīd, from the Prophet ﷺ.

machine translationThis hadith is an error (wahm); Abū Muʿāwiyah erred in it.

machine translationDāwūd b. Abī Hind narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated it from Dāwūd b. Abī Hind, from Abū Naḍrah, from Jābir, while others narrate it from Dāwūd b. Abī Hind, from Abū Naḍrah, from Abū Saʿīd, and this is the correct (ṣawāb) version.
