أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ وَالنَّاسُ يَنْتَظِرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَدْيَانِ أَحَدٌ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ» ثُمَّ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ {لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ} إِلَى {يَسْجُدُونَ}

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the Isha prayer, then came out to the mosque while the people were waiting for the prayer and said, “Indeed, there is no one from the people of the religions who remembers Allah at this hour except you.” Then it was revealed to him: {They are not all the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah...} up to {...they prostrate}.
