✧ The Prophet ﷺ fell behind, and al-Mughirah b. Shubah fell behind with him. When he had relieved himself, he said, “Do you have any water?” I said yes, and brought him the water container. He washed his palms and face, then went to uncover his forearms, but the jubba was too tight. He brought his hand out from under the jubba and threw it over his shoulder, then washed his forearms and wiped over his two khuffs and his turban. Then he mounted, and I mounted with him. He reached the people when Abd al-Rahman b. Awf had already led them in one rakah. When he sensed the Prophet ﷺ arriving, he moved to step back, but the Prophet ﷺ gestured to him to continue praying. When Abd al-Rahman finished the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ and al-Mughirah stood up and completed what they had missed.
