✧ A sheep belonging to the wife of the Prophet ﷺ died. The Prophet ﷺ came to her and she informed him, so he said: "Would you not benefit from its skin?" She said: "O Messenger of Allah, the skin of a dead animal?" He said: "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: 'Say: I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to one who eats it, except that it be dead meat' to the end of the verse. You are not eating it." Ibn Abbas said: "So she sent for it, and it was skinned, and she made a water-skin from its hide."
