أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْكَلَاعِيُّ بِحِمْصَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ

أَنَّهُ رَأَى عُثْمَانَ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ مِنْ إِنَائِهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَمِينَهُ فِي الْوُضُوءِ فَتَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ كُلَّ رِجْلٍ مِنْ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ»

✧ That he saw Uthman call for water for ablution and pour it over his hands from his vessel, washing them three times. Then he inserted his right hand into the water, rinsed his mouth, sniffed water, blew it out, washed his face three times, and his arms up to the elbows three times. Then he wiped his head, then washed each of his feet three times. Then he said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution like my ablution here.' Then he said: 'Whoever performs ablution like my ablution here, then stands and prays two rak'ahs without letting his mind wander in them, his previous sins will be forgiven.'"
