حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا وَشِعْبًا وَسَلَكْتُمْ وَادِيًا وَشِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَكُمْ وَشِعْبَكُمْ، أَنْتُمْ شِعَارٌ وَالنَّاسُ دِثَارٌ، وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ [١]امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى بَيَاضَ إِبِطَيْهِ مَا تَحْتَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَلِأَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ وَلِأَبْنَاءِ أَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ

You are the inner garment and the people are the outer garment. Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man of the Ansar." Then he raised his hands until I could see the whiteness of his armpits, below his shoulders, and he said: "O Allah, forgive the Ansar, and the sons of the Ansar, and the sons of the sons of the Ansar."
