حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ خَطَبَ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ابْنَتَهُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: إِنَّهَا صَغِيرَةٌ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا، فَأَرْسَلَهَا إِلَيْهِ بِرِسَالَةٍ فَمَازَحَهَا فَقَالَتْ: لَوْلَا أَنَّكَ شَيْخٌ أَوْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ! فَأَعْجَبَ عُمَرَ مُصَاهَرَتُهُ فَخَطَبَهَا فَأَنْكَحَهَا إِيَّاهُ
