The Expedition of Buwāṭ
غَزْوَةُ بُوَاطٍ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى بُوَاطٍ أَوَّلَ السَّنَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ فِي مِائَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ مُعْتَرِضًا عِيرًا لِقُرَيْشٍ فِيهَا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ فِي مِائَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ وَمَعَهُمْ أَلْفَانِ وَخَمْسُمِائَةِ بَعِيرٍ، وَكَانَ لِوَاؤُهُ أَبْيَضَ يَحْمِلُهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ سَعْدَ بْنَ مُعَاذٍ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَلْقَهُ وَرَجَعَ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ.
Translation
✧ The Expedition of Buwāṭ The Prophet ﷺ went out to Buwāṭ at the beginning of the second year of the Hijrah with two hundred of the Muhājirūn, intercepting a caravan belonging to Quraysh in which was Umayyah b. Khalaf with one hundred men of Quraysh, and with them were two thousand five hundred camels. His banner was white, carried by Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ, and he appointed Saʿd b. Muʿādh over Madinah. However, he did not meet him, and the Prophet ﷺ returned to Madinah.
