Translation
✧ [His route ﷺ during the emigration] Ibn Isḥāq said: When their guide ʿAbd Allāh b. Arqaṭ set out with them, he took them through the lower part of Makkah, then proceeded with them along the coast until he crossed the road below ʿUsfān, then he took them through the lower part of Amaj, then he turned aside with them until he crossed the road after passing Qudayd, then he took them from that place and led them through al-Kharrār, then he led them through Thaniyyat al-Murrah, then he led them through Liqfā. Ibn Hishām said: It is also said Laftā. Maʿqil b. Khuwaylid al-Hudhalī said: : “A stranger bringing milk from the people of Laft, to a tribe between Athlah and al-Niḥām.” Ibn Isḥāq said: Then he took them through the night-road of Liqf, then he brought them into the night-road of Maḥājj — and it is said Mijāj, according to Ibn Hishām — then he led them through Marjīḥ Maḥājj, then he brought them into Marjīḥ from Dhū al-Ghaḍwayn — Ibn Hishām said: It is also said al-ʿUḍwayn — then the interior of Dhū Kashr, then he took them to al-Jadājid, then to al-Ajrad, then he led them through Dhū Salam, from the interior of Aʿdāʾ Madlijat Tiʿhin, then to al-ʿAbābīd. Ibn Hishām said: It is also said al-ʿAbābīb, and it is said al-ʿIthyānah, meaning al-ʿAbābīb. Ibn Isḥāq said: Then he took them through al-Fājjah, and it is said al-Qāḥḥah, according to Ibn Hishām. Ibn Hishām said: Then he brought them down to al-ʿArj, and some of their mounts had become slow, so a man from Aslam called Aws b. Ḥujr carried the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a camel of his called Ibn al-Ridāʾ to al-Madīnah, and he sent with him a servant of his called Masʿūd b. Hunaydah. Then their guide set out with them from al-ʿArj, and led them through Thaniyyat al-ʿĀʾir, to the right of Rakūbah — and it is said Thaniyyat al-Ghāʾir, according to Ibn Hishām — until he brought them down to the interior of Riʾm, then he brought them to Qubāʾ, to the Banū ʿAmr b. ʿAwf, on the twelfth night of the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal, on Monday, when the forenoon had grown intense and the sun had nearly reached its zenith.
