The Night Journey and the Ascension
ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ تُقْرَضُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ وَشِفَاهُهُمْ بِمَقَارِيضَ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ كُلَّمَا قُرِضَتْ عَادَ، لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ خُطَبَاءُ الْفِتْنَةِ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ.
Translation
✧ Then he came upon a people whose tongues and lips were being cut with iron scissors; every time they were cut, they returned, nothing of that being lessened for them. He said: Who are these, O Jibrīl? He said: These are the preachers of discord from your community, who say what they do not do.
