Translation
✧ The license (ijāzah) to depart from Muzdalifah belonged to ʿAdwān until Islam arose upon the last of them, who was Abū Sayyārah ʿUmaylah b. al-Aʿzal, and it is said his name was al-ʿĀṣ b. Khālid. He used to conduct the people on a one-eyed female donkey of his, and he continued to drive it in the standing place for forty years. He was the first to make the blood-money one hundred, and the first who used to say: 'Shine, Thabīr, so that we may hasten.' Al-Suhaylī reported this.
