Genealogy of Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Some Accounts of His Forefathers and Ancestors
[ بَعْثَةُ النَّبِيِّ، وَنُبُوءَةُ سَطِيحٍ وَشِقٍّ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: فَهُوَ الَّذِي عَنَى سَطِيحٌ بِقَوْلِهِ: نَبِيٌّ زَكِيٌّ، يَأْتِيهِ الْوَحْيُ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْعَلِيِّ. وَاَلَّذِي عَنَى شِقٌّ بِقَوْلِهِ: بَلْ يَنْقَطِعُ بِرَسُولِ مُرْسَلٍ، يَأْتِي بِالْحَقِّ وَالْعَدْلِ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الدِّينِ وَالْفَضْلِ، يَكُونُ الْمُلْكُ فِي قَوْمِهِ إلَى يَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ.
Translation
✧ [The sending of the Prophet, and the prophecies of Saṭīḥ and Shiqq] Ibn Hishām said: He is the one to whom Saṭīḥ referred in his saying: 'A pure prophet, to whom revelation comes from the Most High.' And the one to whom Shiqq referred in his saying: 'Rather, it will be cut off by a sent messenger, who comes with truth and justice, from the people of religion and virtue; kingship will remain among his people until the Day of Decision.'
