Genealogy of Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Some Accounts of His Forefathers and Ancestors

Translation

✧ [The Arabs' Veneration of Quraysh after the Incident of the Elephant] Ibn Isḥāq said: When Allah turned back the Abyssinians from Makkah and afflicted them with the punishment with which He afflicted them, the Arabs venerated Quraysh greatly and said: "They are the people of Allah; Allah fought on their behalf and spared them the burden of their enemy." They composed poems about that, mentioning what Allah had done to the Abyssinians and how He had turned back their plot against Quraysh.
