Genealogy of Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Some Accounts of His Forefathers and Ancestors
[ مَوْطِنُ هَاجَرَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: تَقُولُ الْعَرَبُ: هَاجَرَ وَآجَرَ فَيُبْدِلُونَ الْأَلِفَ مِنْ الْهَاءِ كَمَا قَالُوا: هَرَاقَ الْمَاءَ، وَأَرَاقَ الْمَاءَ وَغَيْرَهُ. وَهَاجَرُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ.
Translation
✧ The Home of Hagar Ibn Hishām said: The Arabs say Hājar and Ājar, exchanging the alif for the hāʾ, as they say harāqa al-māʾ and arāqa al-māʾ and the like. And Hājar was from the people of Egypt.
