Then the year 359 AH began
وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ خَرَجَ عَلَى الْمُعِزِّ الْفَاطِمِيِّ وَهُوَ بِإِفْرِيقِيَّةَ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: أَبُو خَزْرٍ ، فَنَهَضَ إِلَيْهِ الْمُعِزُّ بِنَفْسِهِ وَجُنُودِهِ، فَهَرَبَ مِنْهُ فَأَرْسَلَ فِي طَلَبِهِ يُوسُفَ بْنَ بُلُكِّينَ بْنِ زِيرِي، فَشَرَّدَهُ، وَطَرَدَهُ، ثُمَّ عَادَ فَاسْتَأْمَنَ، فَقَبِلَ مِنْهُ الْمُعِزُّ ذَلِكَ وَصَفَحَ عَنْهُ، وَجَاءَ الرَّسُولُ مِنْ جَوْهَرٍ الْقَائِدِ إِلَى الْمُعِزِّ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ يُبَشِّرُهُ بِفَتْحِ الدِّيَارِ الْمِصْرِيَّةِ وَإِقَامَةِ الدَّعْوَةِ لَهُ بِهَا، وَطَلَبَهُ إِلَيْهَا، فَفَرِحَ بِذَلِكَ الْمُعِزُّ الْفَاطِمِيُّ فَرَحًا شَدِيدًا.
Translation
✧ In this year, a man called Abū Khazr rose against al-Muʿizz al-Fāṭimī while he was in Ifrīqiyah. Al-Muʿizz set out against him in person with his troops, so he fled from him. He sent Yūsuf b. Bulukkīn b. Zīrī in pursuit of him, and he scattered him and drove him away. Then he returned and sought safety, and al-Muʿizz accepted that from him and pardoned him. The messenger from Jawhar the commander came to al-Muʿizz in this year, bringing him good tidings of the conquest of the Egyptian lands and the establishment of the daʿwah for him there, and summoning him to them. Al-Muʿizz al-Fāṭimī rejoiced greatly at that.
