Then the year 356 AH began
وَفِي يَوْمِ الْخَمِيسَ لِسَبْعٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ: خُلِعَ عَلَى الْقَاضِي أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، وَقُلِّدَ الْقَضَاءَ بِالْجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ مِنْ بَغْدَادَ، وَمَدِينَةِ الْمَنْصُورِ، وَحَرِيمِ دَارِ السُّلْطَانِ، وَقُلِّدَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ الْقَضَاءَ فِيمَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الْجَانِبِ الشَّرْقِيِّ مِنْ بَغْدَادَ وَخُلِعَ عَلَيْهِمَا وَبَعْدَ مُدَيْدَةٍ قُلِّدَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ مَعْرُوفِ الْأَشْرَافِ عَلَى الْحُكْمِ وَالْحُكَّامِ.
Translation
✧ And on Thursday, seven nights having passed of Shaʿbān: an honorary robe was bestowed upon the judge Abū Muḥammad ʿUbayd Allāh b. Aḥmad b. Maʿrūf, and he was appointed to the judicature in the western district of Baghdād, the City of al-Manṣūr, and the ḥarīm of the Dār al-Sulṭān. And the judge Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. Sayyār was appointed to the judicature in the remainder of the eastern district of Baghdād, and honorary robes were bestowed upon both of them. And after a short while, the judge Abū Muḥammad b. Maʿrūf was appointed over the nobles as supervisor of judgment and judges.
