Then the year 353 AH began
وَفِيهَا فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، ظَهَرَ بِالْكُوفَةِ إِنْسَانٌ ادَّعَى أَنَّهُ عَلَوِيٌّ، وَكَانَ مُبَرْقَعًا، فَوَقَعَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْعَلَوِيِّ وَقَائِعَ، فَلَمَّا عَادَ مُعِزُّ الدَّوْلَةِ مِنَ الْمَوْصِلِ، هَرَبَ الْمُبَرْقَعُ.
Translation
✧ In it, in Dhū al-Ḥijjah, a man appeared in al-Kūfah claiming to be an ʿAlawī, and he was veiled. Clashes occurred between him and Abū al-Ḥasan Muḥammad b. ʿUmar al-ʿAlawī. When Muʿizz al-Dawlah returned from al-Mawṣil, the veiled one fled.
