Then the year 353 AH began
فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ عَاشِرَ الْمُحَرَّمِ، أُغْلِقَتِ الْأَسْوَاقُ بِبَغْدَاذَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، وَفَعَلَ النَّاسُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرُهُ، فَثَارَتْ فِتْنَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ بَيْنَ الشِّيعَةِ وَالسُّنَّةِ ، جُرِحَ فِيهَا كَثِيرٌ، وَنُهِبَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ.
Translation
✧ In this year, on the tenth of al-Muḥarram, the markets were closed in Baghdādh on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, and the people did what has been previously mentioned, so a great fitnah broke out between the Shīʿah and the Sunnah, in which many were wounded, and properties were plundered.
