Then the year 352 AH began
وَفِيهَا فِي شَعْبَانَ، ثَارَ الرُّومُ بِمَلِكِهِمْ فَقَتَلُوهُ وَمَلَّكُوا غَيْرَهُ، وَصَارَ ابْنُ شَمَشْقِيقَ دُمُسْتُقًا، وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقُولُهُ الْعَامَّةُ ابْنُ الشَّمْشَكِيِّ.
Translation
✧ In this year, in Shaʿbān, the Byzantines revolted against their king and killed him, and they appointed someone else in his place. Ibn Shamashqīq became Domesticos, and he is the one whom the common people call Ibn al-Shamshakī.
