Then the year 352 AH began
وَفِيهَا فِي الثَّامِنِ عَشَرَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، أَمَرَ مُعِزُّ الدَّوْلَةِ بِإِظْهَارِ الزِّينَةِ فِي الْبَلَدِ، وَأُشْعِلَتِ النِّيرَانُ بِمَجْلِسِ الشُّرْطَةِ، وَأُظْهِرَ الْفَرَحُ، وَفُتِحَتِ الْأَسْوَاقُ بِاللَّيْلِ، كَمَا يُفْعَلُ لَيَالِيَ الْأَعْيَادِ فُعِلَ ذَلِكَ فَرَحًا بَعِيدِ الْغَدِيرِ، يَعْنِي غَدِيرَ خُمٍّ، وَضُرِبَتِ الدَّبَادِبُ وَالْبُوقَاتُ، وَكَانَ يَوْمًا مَشْهُودًا.
Translation
✧ In it, on the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, Muʿizz al-Dawlah ordered the display of adornment in the city, and fires were lit at the police headquarters, and joy was shown, and the markets were opened at night, as is done on the nights of festivals. That was done in rejoicing for the feast of al-Ghadir, meaning Ghadir Khumm, and drums and trumpets were beaten, and it was a witnessed day.
