Then the year 351 AH began
وَفِيهَا سَارَ جَيْشٌ مِنَ الرُّومِ فِي الْبَحْرِ إِلَى جَزِيرَةِ أَقْرِيطِشَ، فَأَرْسَلَ أَهْلُهَا إِلَى الْمُعِزِّ لِدِينِ اللَّهِ الْعَلَوِيِّ صَاحِبِ إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ يَسْتَنْجِدُونَهُ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ نَجْدَةً، فَقَاتَلُوا الرُّومَ، فَانْتَصَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ، وَأُسِرَ مَنْ كَانَ بِالْجَزِيرَةِ مِنَ الرُّومِ.
Translation
✧ In this year, an army of the Byzantines traveled by sea to the island of Crete. Its people sent to al-Muʿizz li-Dīn Allāh al-ʿAlawī, the ruler of Ifrīqiya, seeking his aid. He sent them reinforcements, and they fought the Byzantines. The Muslims were victorious, and those Byzantines who were on the island were taken captive.
