Then the year 344 AH began
وَفِي سَنَةِ أَرْبَعٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ: زُلْزِلَتْ مِصْرُ زَلْزَلَةً صَعْبَةً هَدَمَتِ الْبُيُوتَ، وَدَامَتْ ثَلَاثَ سَاعَاتٍ، وَفَزِعَ النَّاسُ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِالدُّعَاءِ.
Translation
✧ In the year forty-four: Egypt was struck by a severe earthquake that destroyed houses, and it lasted three hours, and the people turned to God in supplication.
