Then the year 344 AH began
وَفِيهَا وَقَعَ الْأَكْرَادُ بِنَاحِيَةِ سَاوَةَ عَلَى قُفْلٍ مِنَ الْحُجَّاجِ فَاسْتَبَاحُوهُ، وَفِيهَا خَرَجَ بِنَاحِيَةِ دُنْبَاوَنْدَ رَجُلٌ ادَّعَى النُّبُوَّةَ، فَقُتِلَ، وَخَرَجَ بِأَذْرَبِيجَانَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ يَدَّعِي أَنَّهُ يُحَرِّمُ اللُّحُومَ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْحَيَوَانِ، وَأَنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ، فَأَضَافَهُ رَجُلٌ أَطْعَمَهُ كِشْكِيَّةً بِشَحْمٍ، فَلَمَّا أَكَلَهَا قَالَ لَهُ: أَلَسْتَ تُحَرِّمُ اللَّحْمَ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْحَيَوَانِ، وَأَنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى. قَالَ: فَهَذِهِ الْكِشْكِيَّةُ بِشَحْمٍ، وَلَوْ عَلِمْتَ الْغَيْبَ لَمَا خَفِيَ عَلَيْكَ ذَلِكَ، فَأَعْرَضَ النَّاسُ عَنْهُ.
Translation
✧ In this year, the Kurds fell upon a caravan of pilgrims near Sāwah and plundered it. In this year, a man emerged in the vicinity of Dunbāwand claiming prophethood, and he was killed. Another man emerged in Adharbayjān claiming that he forbade meats and what comes out of animals, and that he knew the unseen. A man hosted him and fed him kishkiyyah with fat. When he ate it, he said to him: "Do you not forbid meat and what comes out of animals, and [claim] that you know the unseen?" He said: "Yes." He said: "This kishkiyyah is with fat, and if you knew the unseen, that would not have been hidden from you." So the people turned away from him.
