Then the year 343 AH began
فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ كَانَ بِخُرَاسَانَ وَالْجِبَالِ وَبَاءٌ عَظِيمٌ، هَلَكَ فِيهِ خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ لَا يُحْصَوْنَ كَثْرَةً.
Translation
✧ In this year there was in Khurasan and al-Jibal a great plague, in which a great many people perished, so many that they could not be counted.
