Then the year 342 AH began
فِيهَا دَخَلَ سَيْفُ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ صَاحِبُ حَلَبَ إِلَى بِلَادِ الرُّومِ ، فَقَتَلَ مِنْهُمْ خَلْقًا كَثِيرًا، وَأَسَرَ آخَرِينَ، وَغَنِمَ أَمْوَالًا جَزِيلَةً، وَرَجَعَ سَالِمًا غَانِمًا.
Translation
✧ In it, Sayf al-Dawlah b. Ḥamdān, the lord of Aleppo, entered the lands of the Byzantines. He killed many of them, captured others, and seized abundant wealth, then returned safe and victorious.
