Then the year 338 AH began
فِي رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ مِنْهَا وَقَعَتْ فِتْنَةٌ بَيْنَ الشِّيعَةِ وَأَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ ، وَنُهِبَتِ الْكَرْخُ.
Translation
✧ In Rabīʿ al-Awwal of this year, a conflict occurred between the Shīʿa and the people of the Sunnah, and al-Karkh was plundered.
