Then the year 336 AH began
وَوَرَدَ الْكِتَابُ بِتَقَلُّدِ الْقَاضِي أَبِي السَّائِبِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَضَاءَ فِي الْجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ وَمَدِينَةِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مَكَانَ الْقَاضِي أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، فَاجْتَمَعَتْ لَهُ مَدِينَةُ السَّلَامِ.
Translation
✧ The letter arrived [stating] that the qāḍī Abū al-Sāʾib ʿUtbah b. ʿUbayd Allāh had assumed the judgeship in the western side and the city of Abū Jaʿfar, in place of the qāḍī Abū al-Ḥusayn Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ, so the City of Peace was gathered for him.
